Roofing Before & After in West Palm Beach, FL
Talk is cheap, especially when a roof is involved. We could tell you about the Garrison Standard until we’re blue in the face, but nothing hits quite like seeing the physical change. Below are real scenarios we deal with across West Palm Beach, from August storm damage in Flamingo Park to slow leaks that finally told on themselves. No staging, no excuses – just the work.

Recent Transformations
Storm-Damaged Asphalt Shingle Roof, South End
Before
AfterThe problem: a summer squall peeled back a whole section of shingles, exposing the underlayment and letting water ride down into the decking. By the time we arrived, the homeowner had buckets in the attic. What we did: removed every compromised shingle, inspected the decking for rot, replaced two sheets of water-damaged plywood, and laid new architectural shingles with a reinforced nail pattern. The result: no more buckets, no more mold risk, and a roofline that looks better than it did before the storm.
Flashing Failure and Chimney Leak, Northwood
Before
AfterThe problem: a slow drip near the chimney that stained the ceiling for months before it was caught. The old flashing had corroded through in Florida’s salt air, leaving a gap wide enough for wind-driven rain to squeeze into. What we did: pulled the old flashing, cut back the damaged mortar, and bent new metal flashing on site to match the chimney profile. We also re-sealed the junction with a high grade roof cement. The result: the ceiling dried out, the stain got painted over, and the leak hasn’t returned through a full rainy season.
Flat Roof Ponding and Membrane Failure, Roosevelt Estates
Before
AfterThe problem: an older flat roof was holding water for days after every rain, which is a death sentence for membrane roofs in South Florida. The surface had turned brittle and begun to split at the seams. What we did: stripped the old membrane, checked the decking below, and installed a new TPO system with tapered insulation to fix the slope so water moves off instead of pooling. The result: after the next heavy storm, there was no standing water at all, and the homeowner stopped needing a push broom to clear puddles off her roof.
Deteriorated Tile Roof, Old Northwood Historic District

The problem: a 1920s Spanish-style home with original tile work had started losing tiles to high winds and old age. The underlayment underneath had degraded to the point where it was practically dust in some spots. What we did: sourced replacement tiles to match the original color and profile, laid new synthetic underlayment across the repaired sections, and reset every loose tile with fresh fasteners. The result: the home kept its historic character, and the roof finally stopped letting water into the attic during summer downpours.
Clogged Valley and Rotted Decking, Lake Worth Corridor

The problem: a narrow roof valley had been collecting palm fronds and debris for years, holding moisture against the shingles until the decking softened underneath. We found rot extending several feet in both directions. What we did: cut out the rotted sections, replaced the decking, installed fresh underlayment in the valley, and re-shingled the entire area with a closed-cut valley so debris slides off instead of snagging. The result: a solid roof deck, a dry attic, and one less valley for the next storm to exploit.
Hail-Damaged Roof, Palm Beach Lakes

The problem: a fast-moving storm dropped hail across Palm Beach Lakes and left nearly every shingle on this home bruised and shedding granules. It looks fine from the street, but up close you can see the damage. What we did: a full tear-off down to the decking, a new synthetic underlayment layer, new drip edge, and a complete set of GAF architectural shingles rated for impact. The result: a roof that’s better than the original, with documentation for the homeowner’s insurance file and a clean, even look from every angle.
